Rosario Dawson is on her way to becoming one of the defining and enduring actresses of her generation. As it’s been a long time since Kids, we highlight some of her most recent career steps.

Born in 1979 to a Puerto Rican/Cuban family in New York City, Rosario Dawson’s first appearence as a child actress was in Sesame Street. At age 15 she was discovered by filmmaker Larry Clark on her front porch and made her first mark in movies in Kids (1995).

Outspoken, energetic with a Caribbean temperament and flashing diamond eyes, Dawson went on to play major and minor roles in Men In Black II, Alexander, 25th Hour, Sin City and Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof.

Besides being an ardent Arsenal fan (remarkable for a NY-girl...), she supports organisations like Doctors Without Borders and Save The Children.

Her latest film to date is an ensemble comedy called Girl Walks Into a Bar, made for the internet-only and featuring an all-star cast:
