Swiss Red Bull X-Alps contender Chrigel Maurer has been flying just ahead of a bad weather front which is testing his pursuers with stiff breezes, snow storms and difficult thermal conditions. Closest on his tail are Romanian road-runner Toma Coconea (180km behind) and Austrian Paul Guschlbauer (204km behind).
