GREETINGS-FROM-BUZIUS.jpg

As the Red Bull Music Armada sets sail along the Brazilian coast, event host Renata Simoes gives us a quick taste of what each of the five stop-off points has to offer. Next stop: Buzios…

Stop Four: Buzios
Renata Simoes says: “It's the French side of Brazil, a charming little town that caught our collective imagination when Brigitte Bardot visited there. Buzios is a kind of Saint Tropez of the South Atlantic… Good restaurants, beautiful people and the ’70s aura remains the same.

The Party Style: It may be small but the clubbing in Buzios is ultra-smart and sophisticated, even when the playlist favours hip-hop and rap. The late-night floors are filled with samba and capoeira dancers but those after a really special dance show (with a few circus skills thrown in) tend to head to the beaches after dark. The multi-national cuisine reflects the diversity of the settlers on Buzios: The Cigalon (in the building where Brigitte Bardot spend her Buzios days), for instance, offers French twists such as shrimp with ‘coffee mignonette’. Buzios also hosts an international jazz and blues festival.

The next port of call for the Red Bull Music Armada will be Rio de Janeiro.
